With the field limited to 78 elite golfers, there was no cut after R-2 yesterday.
Xander Schauffele shot eight under (64) to take a three stroke advantage (-14) over R-1 leader Tyrrell Hatton (four under, (68) (-11). Russell Henley is a stroke behind Hatton heading into weekend, third round play today in Las Vegas.
Play begins at 9:25am (local)/ 12:45pm (et) and the leaders tee-off at 11:37am (local)/2:37pm (et) at Shadow Creek. Shauffele, Hatton and Henley will play as a threesome.

Xander Schauffele’s back nine (29) was a career low on tour. This is his second start on the current 2020-21 tour schedule. His first resulted in a fifth place finish at the U.S. Open.
In his tournament debut, Talor Gooch (-9) carded five birdies and an eagle on his way to 7-under (65). Currently in 4th place, he is in search of his first career PGA TOUR win.
Defending champion and two-time winner of the event Justin Thomas is T-8 after shooting a 6-under (66) on Friday. In that second round, Thomas led the field in Strokes Gained: Tee to Green (4.625) and SG: Approach the Green (2.838). Thomas was among five players, including Schauffele and Gooch, to play bogey free on Friday.
There are 11 South Koreans in the field and Hanbyeol Kim and Si Woo Kim lead that group and are T-33. The CJ Cup is usually played in South Korea.
