TODAY: The PGA Tour is at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas for the second round of the Shriners Hospital for Children Open.
TV Coverage: Today through final round on Sunday (5-8pm ET) - Golf Channel
PGA Tour Radio Coverage: Today (2pm-8pm ET); Saturday and Sunday (3pm-8pm ET)
Tournament Leader: Bryson DeChambeau shot a sizzling 9-under (62), a bogey-free round with nine birdies. DeChambeau teed-off on No. 10 Thursday morning (10:15am ET) to go out 6-under (30) with birdies on No.s 12, 13, then 16-18.
Five-way tie for 2nd: At 8-under (63), there’s a log-jam on the first day leaderboard at T-2 with Austin Cook, Harold Varner III, Scott Harrington, Nick Lashley and 2017 Shriners champ (and runner-up in ‘18 and ‘19) Patrick Cantlay.
Tony Finau tested positive for COVID-19 and withdrew from the tournament. He is the 14th PGA Tour player to test positive since the tour returned. He was replaced by alternate Bronson Burgoon. (ESPN)
Our “keep an eye on” pick of Louis Oosthuizen shot an opening round 6-under 65 and is T-13th.
Interesting trend “looking ahead” to 2021: Since 2013, four of the seven winners at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open qualified for the following TOUR Championship (2013 Webb Simpson, 25th / 2017 Patrick Cantlay 20th / 2018 Bryson DeChambeau 12th/ 2019 Kevin Na 27th).
Late scratch: Due to a neck injury, Greg Chalmers was a WD from the tourney and was replaced by Rob Oppenheim.

Welcome to PGA Tour Lunch
This short e-Newsletter, in beta form this week, is designed to give golf fans a quick update on the most basic and important information on the PGA Tour and its tournament of the week. It will come to your inbox at Noon (ET) on most days but might slide a bit, depending on the site of the weekly tournament.
While there’s a glut of e-News flooding your inbox every morning, PGA Tour Lunch will provide you with some interesting reading at lunchtime. It is designed to be no more than two or three screen scrolls on your mobile device. We are not affiliated with the PGA Tour or any tournament but rather an independent news outlet. As we continue beta testing, we will offer a limited amount of advertising and partnerships.
After initial testing here, this will eventually become a stand-alone subscription-based e-Newsletter. We are considering expansion to the NBA and other sports. Boston-based @SoxLunch is a sister publication.
