Pre-Tournament Notes
The ZOZO Championship was relocated from Tokyo, Japan to Thousand Oaks, California because of the pandemic and the tour’s overall scheduling plan.
Tiger Woods is the defending champion of the event but is also quite familiar with the course at Sherwood Country Club which staged the Hero World Challenge from 2000-2013 where Woods and his foundation acted as host. Woods last played when he Missed the Cut at the 2020 U.S. Open. (Sept. 20th).
News: Dustin Johnson (COVID+) withdrew from the ZOZO Championship. (PGA Tour dot com)
"Unfortunately, Dustin just made the decision to withdraw from Zozo," said David Winkle, Johnson's agent, to the tour. "While he is feeling much better, he is still a bit low on energy and feels it would be best to wait and resume his schedule in Houston.”
The Houston Open is scheduled for Nov. 5-8, 2020.
